RF + Microwave SubsystemsdBD Communications can supply both low noise and bi polar receive amplifiers, with adjustable gain and single channel power up to 300W outward power. We concentrate on applications below 1 GHz, although we do have other capability outside of this range:

Duplexers

RF + Microwave SubsystemsdBD Communications can provide mobile duplexers for use in the VHF or UHF band with either BNC or N type connectors. Our standard products have a 5MHz or 10MHz split but other values can be provided on request.

Base Station Antenna Duplexers – Pass Notch

dBD Communications can supply a variety of Duplexers for Base Station Antennas. These are Pass Notch and frequencies can range from 66 – 960 MHz depending on model. Multiple Input Powers are available.

 


Band Pass

526 Series Duplexers | VHF & UHF

These units use six pass-reject dual-notch resonators with three resonators per channel as the normal arrangement. This product utilizes the superior RF conductivity of copper for excellent performance. The 526 series is suitable for duplexing or two channel Tx combining. Contact us for more application details. These units are available with reversible mounting brackets (526-5-SR) to allow flush rack mounting with connections in the rear.

Optical Delay Lines

dBD Communications offers Optical Delay Line products (ODL) with time delays varying between 0.01 and 300 μsec that can be controlled externally via a PC. The RF Delay Lines we can supply are suitable for radar testing, radar calibration, electronic warfare and other defense applications – and is also a useful tool for telecommunications testing and simulating channel delay.

This ODL module adds time delay to the input RF analog signals at the 0.01-20 GHz frequency range. The RF input signal is then converted into an optical modulated signal, which is transmitted into a single mode fibre, creating a fixed time delay. At the other end of the fiber the optical signal is converted back into an RF signal (which is identical to the original signal).

The Fibre Delay Line compact modules provide accurate time delay, option for no RF attenuation after conversion, and -100dB spurious-free dynamic range, delivering superb performance and ultra quiet operation. Due to their flexible design, modules can be delivered with several switchable predefined time delay values.

dBD Communications are able to provide (under development) a Radar Optical Delay Line & Doppler Target Simulator (ODLDS), which is the first Optical Delay Line and Doppler Simulator test equipment that combines both needs of radar system users.

After passing the fibre, the optical signal is converted back into an electrical RF signal, which is identical to the input RF signal. Our ODL unit is a compact solution, which provides superb performance including accurate time delay and with ultra silent operation.

Optical Delay Line (0-8GHz):

Suitable for: L,S,C bands

Power Meters

dBD Communications offer a range of both portable and panel mount Power Meters measuring from milliwatts to kilowatts for both forward and reverse applications.

We have various models to suit different needs with both analogue and digital read outs. We can offer peak and average applications in various bands across the power range.

We offer Power Meters that are suitable for High Power requirements, Broadband, Peak/Average Reading, Relative Strength,  Panel Mount, Monitor/Alarm systems, Plug In Elements, Line Sections, Adjustable Tap Offs,  Signal Samplers, Plug In Extractors – both and directional.

 

Portable Power Meters & Components

dBD Communications are able to supply the 88950 and 88960 series of High-Power Meters. These are designed to measure RF power in 50-Ohm 1-5/8″ to 6-1/8″ coaxial transmission lines. These are the same meters included in our 81100-A, 81300-A, 81400-A and 81600-A High-Power Wattmeters.

Several different models are available with either 5/10/25 scales or 15/30/60 scales. The portable Meter can be used up to 200-feet from the Line Section with the permanently attached DC cables (10-foot normally supplied). The meter unit is protected by a rugged, shock-proof housing.

The use of a rugged shock mounted meter with a mirror-backed scale along with superior taut band technology, provides reliable and accurate readings, and also satisfies both the US Navy and Canadian standards for bounce and vibration.

 

Panel Mount Power Meters

This series of High-Power Panel Mount Meters are designed to measure RF power in 50-Ohm 1-5/8″ to 6-1/8″ coaxial transmission lines.

Several different models are available with either 5/10/25 scales or 15/30/60 scales. The Panel Meter can be installed up to 200-feet from the Line Section with the permanently attached DC cables (10-foot normally supplied).

 

 

 



RF Over Fibre

RF + Microwave SubsystemsdBD Communications can supply RF over Fiber solutions which convert analog RF signals into optical signals. These are then transmitted over optical fibers and converted back to RF signals at various bands.

Suited towards replacing thick coaxial cables, Heliax or waveguides, optical fibres significantly reduces weight and physical space in marine, airborne and balloon-based communication applications, whilst gaining cost effective communications with excellent performances.

Our simple to apply solutions are designed to connect remote antennas to central in-door locations over optical fibers in Communications, Satcom, Cellular or GPS applications and provide comprehensive solutions for over fiber-optic infrastructure in: land, marine, airborne and balloon-based communication applications.

The RF over Fiber flexible module design enables us to offer customized solutions with various mechanical dimensions to meet customer-specific application requirements. In addition, we can supply customized modules with multiple optical signals to be delivered over a single fiber.

 

 

 

 

Low Frequency Band

Our low-frequency products are provided in 0.1-1.5; 0.1-2.7 GHz frequency bands and optimised for IF, VHF, UHF, L and S bands. 

High Frequency Band

Our high-frequency products support 0.1-8; 0.1-15; 0.1-20 GHz frequencies, optimised for IF, L, S, C, X and Ku bands.

Multi-Link System Capabilities

The new 2.4 GHz RFoF Multilink system can accommodate up to 12 Tx or Rx links (or mix) 2 power supplies cards and 1 control card that can be interfaced to a management system through RS-232 or SNMP protocols. The product is lightweight and can be installed in 19″ rack. There are light indications in the front panels but also through the management system.



Radios

RF + Microwave Subsystems

dBD Communications can offer mobile, fixed and handheld radio systems for use in the public and private sector. This can include trunked or simplex radio circuits, with a complete turnkey package or additional radios to support an existing network.

 

We are able to supply various Radios which can be sold or hired out for a defined period of time, in accordance to a rental agreement. If a trial or demonstration is required, this can be arranged to show how the radios will function and be set up on site.
