Revisiting Rail Live 2021
Rail Live 2021 (16-17 June) will undoubtedly be one to remember. We must say, it was great to be back at a live event again to showcase our products, speak to people we haven’t seen in a while, and meet some new contacts.
After 18 months with almost no face-to-face contact with our network and industry personnel, Rail Live 2021 could not have come soon enough. It was a welcome relief to safely engage directly, in person, with so many contacts.
What is Rail Live 2021?
Rail Live is the only event that brings the rail industry together in a real railway environment. Hosted outside at the Quinton Rail Technology Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon over two days, Rail Live, attracts thousands of visitors each year.
Rail Live is a must-attend event for railway procurement professionals, project managers, C-Level Executives, engineers and apprentices.
For railway engineers in particular, Rail Live, allows them to find, test, and evaluate thousands of products on display.
As an exhibitor at Rail Live 2021, we had quite the flurry of visitors to our stand keen to take a closer look at our wireless communication solutions.
To be fair, you couldn’t miss us with our dBD Communications branded flags, van, gift bags, pens and earbuds. We even brought branded cupcakes, which went down a treat!
Having exhibited at Rail Live in previous years, it was also nice to have some new attendees from our team of engineers.
Over the two-day outdoor exhibition, the weather kept on our side, and we were introduced to a good number of new contacts. Given the popularity of our solutions, we were quite inventive with how we used our space. For instance, we made full use of our van, which offered the perfect sheltered yet well-ventilated space for more private conversations.
Meanwhile, on stand, we gave a series of product demonstrations throughout the day, including an introduction to our 10-step asset cleaning process.
The main interest was in the performance of our wireless communication solutions. However, our hygiene cleaning process is still just as important now as it was when we put it together at the beginning of the pandemic. So it was great to be able to remind everyone how seriously we continue to take hygiene and sanitisation.
All in all, we gave over [insert number] product demonstrations of our Athena and Apollo wireless communication solutions.
Making new contacts
Having been almost two years since we last exhibited (due to Covid-19), it was great to see some new faces as well as our more familiar contacts.
Looking at the diary for the next couple of months, we’ve got quite a number of on-site demonstrations booked in already.
Reconnecting with the industry
Rail Live 2021 was a timely reminder of customer loyalty and the positive impact the equipment we have supplied is continuing to have on our clients.
We cannot thank the organisers enough. It’s no mean feat organising such a controlled event during COVID-19, yet the event team pulled it off. Rail Live 2021 signifies the start of regaining some normality at long last, and we cannot wait for the next rail event (Railtex at the NEC in Birmingham on 7-9 September)!
