This year is a big year for dBD Communications. We can hardly believe that it has been 10 years since our wireless duplex communication solutions were approved by Network Rail to reduce risk on tasks.
We’ll never forget the cheer in the office in 2011 when we received the call from Network Rail approving our Athena wireless system. It was a real moment, not just for us but for the rail industry too. After all, it marked the culmination of 18 months of rigorous trials.
When Network Rail mandated that everyone working on their rail network had to use open mic duplex communications, we had approved systems ready to go, and we’ve never looked back.
In fact, our Athena system is fast approaching 10,000 sales. One of the reasons for its success is how it can be adapted for different uses. Whether you’re seeking increased environmental awareness or localised noise suppression, Athena is a flexible solution.

To this day, our approval certificates take pride of place in our boardroom as a testament and reminder to how we do business.
Innovation is hugely important to us. As one of the main duplex wireless systems manufacturers to the rail industry, our clients depend on us to improve communications with new products and hybrid systems.
