Product FAQs
What is the Apollo Waterproof Base Unit used for?
The Apollo Waterproof Base Unit is a high-capacity, portable wireless base station designed for machine operators managing large teams in demanding rail environments. As a non-fixed asset, it allows operators to easily move the communications hub between different vehicles and machinery throughout a shift.
How many users can connect to a single base unit?
Each Apollo Waterproof Base Unit can accommodate up to 8 users simultaneously, making it our highest-capacity multi-user solution for large-scale rail maintenance and construction teams.
What is the maximum distance users can be from the base unit?
The system provides an extended wireless range of up to 150 metres from the base unit, powered by a 6dBi Omni High Gain Antenna to ensure clear, drop-out-free communication across large work sites.
What is the best positioning of the base unit for optimal range and clarity?
To achieve maximum range and performance, position the base unit as high as possible with a clear, unobstructed line of sight to all team members. Ensure the Omni High Gain antenna is kept vertical and positioned away from heavy metal enclosures or thick cab tinting. You can utilize the included antenna mounting options (case-mounted, remote machine mount, or suction cup) to achieve the best placement.
How do you perform WTX pairing, and is a special tool required?
WTX pairing connects headsets directly to the system. Placing the units into pairing mode requires a dedicated pairing tool/key, please consult your included system manual for the exact step-by-step pairing procedure.
