Managing Director and Owner, David O'Connell, is well known for his systems engineer career in the Army and Defence sector. When David established dBD Communications in 2002, he brought with him over 20 years' experience in RF and Microwave Technology product innovation.
This gave him an incredible foundation for resolving similar communications challenges in rail, construction, and air.

LEADING IN HEALTH AND SAFETY
dBD Communications is a strong advocate for improving occupational health and safety. In 2009, we produced a trackside works Health and Safety duplex communications brief for Network Rail.
The rail industry saw how this capability could reduce health and safety risks. In 2012, it mandated the use of duplex communications products when controlling plant equipment. We have since become specialists in short-range wireless duplex communication systems. With a significant share of the marketplace for UK rail infrastructure and an increasing demand in construction and civil markets. We are also leading on technology advancements within the air-ground handling sector as a manufacturer of wireless pushback, maintenance, towing and de-icing activities. We hold ISO 9001:2015 and RISQS for activity within the rail sector.
