From Frontline Delivery to Customer Feedback Initiatives, April Sees Continued Momentum Across Key Sectors
This month’s update highlights growing engagement within the construction sector, alongside real project insight from customers using duplex communication systems to maintain safety, coordination and productivity. We also share progress across quality assurance activity, customer feedback initiatives and recent industry events that continue to shape operational conversations across the sectors we serve.
From frontline delivery to industry engagement, the focus remains consistent — ensuring communication solutions perform reliably where safety and operational clarity matter most.
Construction Sector Momentum: Growing Adoption Of Duplex Communications
Across the construction and wider infrastructure sectors, dBD Communications is seeing a clear and sustained shift towards duplex, open-microphone communication systems — particularly on larger, more complex project environments.
As site activity becomes increasingly dynamic, contractors are recognising the limitations of traditional push-to-talk radios during safety-critical tasks such as lifting operations, plant coordination and confined working environments. Continuous, hands-free communication allows teams to remain connected in real time, helping to reduce the risk of missed instructions while improving overall situational awareness.
Operational efficiency is also a key factor. By removing the need to stop work to press transmit buttons, duplex communication supports smoother coordination between multiple roles on site, including operators, banksmen and supervisors. This multi-user connectivity helps streamline decision-making and contributes to more controlled project delivery in high-risk areas.
Importantly, many principal contractors are now seeking to standardise communication approaches across their plant and workforce as part of wider investment in integrated, technology-led safety solutions. As major infrastructure programmes continue to evolve, we are increasingly seeing duplex systems viewed not simply as an enhancement — but as a practical requirement for modern construction site operations.
In response, we continue to work closely with construction customers to provide robust, multi-user communication solutions, supported by flexible hire options, site demonstrations and ongoing engineering support aligned to the realities of live infrastructure delivery.
Construction Customer Spotlight: Kanadevia Inova
A recent example of this growing adoption can be seen through our work with Kanadevia Inova on their Walsall construction site.
Following early engagement to understand site communication requirements, we worked closely with the project team to provide a trial duplex solution aligned to the operational demands of the environment. This trial phase allowed teams to experience the benefits of continuous, hands-free communication in live working conditions before progressing to full system purchase within approximately eight weeks.
The system is now deployed on site and supporting day-to-day coordination across key activities, with feedback from the project team described as very positive. Encouragingly, the successful implementation has already generated interest from other Kanadevia sites and associated clients, highlighting the wider potential for duplex communication to support safer and more efficient construction delivery across similar project environments.
Projects such as this reinforce the importance of collaborative engagement, practical trials and tailored system configuration in ensuring communication solutions genuinely support frontline operational needs.

Customer Feedback Driving Continuous Improvement
As part of our ongoing focus on customer experience, we are encouraging users of dBD Communications systems to share their feedback through Google Reviews.
Direct insight from frontline teams continues to play an important role in shaping product development and service delivery. Whether highlighting performance in live operational environments or identifying opportunities for improvement, customer feedback helps inform how communication solutions evolve to meet changing industry demands.
A good example of this approach can be seen in the development of our holdall-style carry bag, introduced last year following consistent feedback from customers looking for a more versatile way to transport complete communication setups. Designed to improve durability, accessibility and overall practicality on site, the holdall has since been adopted across multiple operational environments and continues to receive positive feedback from teams using it in day-to-day project delivery.
By sharing their experiences publicly, customers not only help guide future innovation but also support wider industry understanding of how duplex communication systems perform in real working conditions. Leave us a review or get in touch with the team today!
Maintaining Standards: Environmental And ISO Audit Activity Continues
Alongside ongoing customer engagement and project activity, dBD Communications continues to progress key internal quality and environmental assurance programmes.
Following the successful completion of the first phase of our environmental audit, the next stage is scheduled shortly, alongside our upcoming ISO audit activity. These structured review processes remain an important part of ensuring our operations, product support and service delivery continue to meet the expectations placed on a safety-critical communication supplier.
While outcomes from these audits will be shared in due course, the continued focus on maintaining and strengthening internal standards reflects our long-term commitment to quality, accountability and responsible operational practice across the sectors we support.

Your Moment: Celebrating Safety-Critical Work In Action
Our Your Moment initiative continues to highlight the environments, teams and operational challenges that define safety-critical industries across rail, aviation, construction and infrastructure.
Last month’s winning entry was submitted by Jacques Talbot, Buyer at Polar Aircraft Deicer, whose image featured in our November calendar slot and captured duplex communication supporting operational readiness in the field. In recognition of the contribution, the team received a luxury hamper as part of the initiative.
We are always keen to receive new submissions that showcase communication systems in use during real project delivery. Whether during major seasonal works or day-to-day site activity, these shared moments help build a stronger understanding of how duplex communication supports safe and efficient working practices across different operational environments.
If you’d like to take part or explore past selections, full details can be found here. Successful entries are also entered into our monthly luxury hamper prize draw throughout 2026 — offering teams the opportunity to showcase their work and earn a little well-deserved recognition!
Rail Infrastructure Networking: Industry Engagement Continues
March saw dBD Communications exhibiting at the Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) event in London, providing a valuable opportunity to reconnect with contractors, delivery teams and infrastructure partners working across safety-critical rail environments.
Discussions throughout the event reflected ongoing industry focus on safe systems of work, operational coordination and the practical challenges teams face when delivering complex projects trackside and within possessions. Representing dBD Communications on the day, Andrew O’Connell spent time engaging directly with contractors and delivery teams to better understand current site challenges and share practical insight on communication-led safety solutions.
Our engagement with the RIN community continues next month, as we prepare to attend the Glasgow event in May. These forums remain an important part of how we stay closely aligned with customer priorities, share insight from live operational environments, and support the wider rail sector in strengthening communication-led safety practices.
