From everyone here at dBD Communications, we hope you and your family, friends and colleagues are safe and well.

During these most unsettling of times, we want to let all our clients know that we have put in place additional hygiene measures to help limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Whilst it is a hugely unsettling time, we understand that many of our clients play an important role in keeping vital services operational. Maintenance and engineering work must continue but the health and safety of people must come first.

With this in mind, and as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of two-way communications equipment, we remain operational but with a few changes.

This is to ensure that our clients’ workers have the most effective tools and services to carry out the tasks asked of them, in the safest and most efficient way.

Steps we have taken internally

In line with government guidance, we have taken the necessary steps to isolate our staff by applying home working policies, where appropriate. Where this is not possible, we have created more room between operational staff.

  • Our manufacturing and operational areas are now split into zones, with no more than one person allowed to enter each zone at any time. This is in excess of the observed 2m distancing requirements.
  • Daily deep cleans of work areas are conducted between shifts and full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used, including gloves and the appropriate hand sanitising products.
  • We have clearly defined processes and areas for clean and dirty equipment to avoid cross-contamination. This is so that we can be certain that all assets are clean when they leave dBD Communications.
  • For hygiene reasons, we are no longer issuing mic muffs with our rental equipment. These must be purchased separately by the client.

 

Options available to clients

As a client, your staff and contractors, just like ours, will need reassuring that it is safe for them to work and that you have taken all the necessary steps to ensure the cleanliness of the equipment they use.

With this in mind, we have put in place some carefully considered practical solutions, as well as advice for cleaning equipment on site. 

Our recommendations on cleaning equipment

Equipment should be thoroughly cleaned before being used or passed on to someone else for use. In the absence of antiseptic wipes, we recommend cleaning equipment before and after each use with a clean, damp cloth with soapy water. Although make sure you do not use a soaked cloth.

Remember, all areas must be cleaned. This should also include areas that are out-of-sight and sometimes missed such as the creases of the ear cups and inside the dome areas.

Hygiene Pack

New mic muffs and ear covers should be applied each time the equipment is used. For an added level of protection, we supply individually wrapped mic muffs and ear covers for each user to apply.

Hygiene managed service visit

We can also visit your facilities to carry out an inspection and deep clean of equipment, including mic muff changes of any assets presented to us. Time permitting, we’ll also be on hand to carry out 1st line repairs on the day.

We have strict processes all our operational and field staff have been trained to follow to ensure equipment is correctly cleaned and sanitised. They have been supplied with PPE and all equipment is returned to dBD Communications in a marked box to prevent cross-contamination.

Additional rental fleets

We can arrange for rental assets to be delivered before your works delivery is planned.  These can then be shipped back and cleaned, ready for the next weekend task. Note: mic muffs will need to be purchased by the client as rental assets are supplied without these attached.
